I fed my large hive 2 days ago. This morning I mixed up some 1:1, expecting to find their feeder empty. They normally would slurp up the quart and lick the feeder dry overnight. This time the feeder was almost full. The locust tree and poplar tree in the yard have no blooms yet. However, later as I was on my way to Home Depot to pick up some materials to build supers, I saw a locust on a corner of two busy streets that had started to bloom.

I got 4 boxes built, and will be painting them Friday; good thing, as I will probably need them next week.

Thanks, tree. 10 days ago the locusts around here were barely leafing out. I was surprised by my girls ignoring my sugar water.
