I was watching the hive yesterday and saw a bee pull what looked like a perfectly white bee out and onto the ground. I'm new to this, so...that was a nearly mature bee right? Could it have been a queen that they were getting rid of, since the hive got a new one recently?

Sure it could have been a queen that was in a cell that got damaged when you were last in your hive or it could be a drone or worker that was damaged in it's cell on your last inspection. It could of been infested with a v mite and it was taken out of the hive. It could of been chilled and was taken out of the hive. If the hive is on the verge of starvation they will pull brood out of the hive.
