Welcome, Tarheeler- looks like you've got your priorities in order.

Best of success to you in year two- looks like the weather is about to turn the corner for us South of the M/D line.

Welcome to the Forum... Greenville here. I have 3 now, all Langstroth. I had 4 but killed the queen in my Longhive with a careless brushing. Planning on 2 nucs and re-populating the longhive this spring / summer. Put out a couple of swarm traps, you will be surprised with where you catch swarms. Join your local bee club and get a mentor. Remember that in beekeeping location means everything, what works here may not work there. Good luck, spring is really close.
