Our chimney master dropped this off when I wasn't at home, said it was a gift and he thought I may be able to use it somehow in the apiary. Any ideas? This metal rectangle is 26 x 53 x 5". A super thrifty beek, I must find something to use this "gift" for by next March when he's scheduled to come by for a cleaning.

How about a tray for solar wax melter? It's a little big but you could cut It down and use It for the top section or the bottom or both.

You should be able to make at least 2 and possibly 3 metal covers for hive top covers. Free materials are the best! :D

Its originally intended use may be as a chimney cap for a disused chimney.

Great ideas, everybody, thanks! I'm swinging between a big water source for the bees or metal for hive roofs. :) I am all about "free" as I go along (would rather spend it on bees if I need to). Thanks, Radar, for letting me know what it originally was. I was scratching my head. To me, it's just a rectangle. ;-)
