Taking 10000v/2J of power in the mouth isn't even in the same ball park as getting stung.
I have bears crawling all over my yards and never had a problem because ALL of them have well grounded, baited electric fences around them and I'm careful to keep them charged.
Had a bear pacing back and forth in front of the fence at my house last year....wanted the brood/honey BAAADDDD! but he wouldn't get within 10 feet of that fence after he licked the bait on the fence tape. Hucked a pack of firecrackers his way and he beat feet like nothing I've ever seen before....ran head first into a tree while running away because he was looking back over his shoulder at the firecrackers.
Hasn't been back since.
