Well as a first year beek I with 18 months of research going in I had decided to start with Russian bees. I read up on using USDA Russians and found Mr. Revis in NC which is about 2 hours from me.
I first contacted Mr. Revis by email in December, no response. I tried a second email a couple of weeks later, no response. I then left a phone message in early Jan, no response.
At this point I tried calling another supplier in NC of Russians only to learn that he purchases the stock he sells from Mr. Revis - a sub supplier. He was able to let Mr. Revis know I wanted two Nucs.
As the months go by I get excited. Emailed the sub-supplier (as I could again not get in touch with Mr. Revis) and he says there will be a delay.
This goes on until March/April. I send a last email to Mr. Revis and the sub-supplier telling them to contact me when the Nucs are ready.
At the mid May timeframe - I see the writing on the wall and buy some Italians.
To this day I have never received an email or phone call telling me the Nucs are ready.
