When would be the safer time to move some newly installed 4 way pallets of bees ? I have 14 pallets I had to install at home and I want to take them 10 Km up the road from me once the farmers driveway is passable in a week or 2.

Any suggestions ? wait longer ??? and yes it would be at night .

I would move them after they get loaded on the truck. Other than that , does it really matter?

Ben, once they start keeping house they will not be likely to abscond. If I remember correctly you are putting them into new equipment but you have several frames of drawn comb in each hive. The old comb should keep them attached to the new home.

In a week or 2 you should be able to assess the situation of these hives.
By then you should know if the queen is laying and the workers are busy working for
the hive. Once they have eggs, larvae, and broods they will not be likely to abscond.
I think 2 weeks is enough time without much concern. Keep them well fed until they can
be self sufficient.
