I'm entering my first spring, hives are single deeps with one medium super with some capped sugar syrup.
If the queen and cluster have moved up into the super what is the best way to move them back into the deep?
Will they move down on their own?
Can I use Fishers bee quick to move them down and then put on a queen excluder, removing it when she starts laying?
I'd like to keep most (if not all) brood rearing in the deeps.
Thanks!

If you wait to add a box until the queen is laying in the deep you could confine her there with no issues probably. If you try to put them down in the bottom box with no brood there, they will probably just replace the queen and may even let her die when they abandon her and move back to the upper box.
