Moving deep to meduim

I have move my hive out of a deep in to med.(10 to 8 )
I have some left over comb with some brood left, what I could not get into the med frames.
Do I toss it? Set it out near my hive let the girls clean it up?
Also I have 2 deep frames with honey left over from winter. Is it consumable, use it to for feed later. Getting a package next week, feed it to the package?
Thanks

Sure, I probably would.

If you like

Store it in your freezer if you have room, and give it to your future package.
I finished up the move from 10 to 8 med and went to a top entrance.
Shimmed the telescoping cover, I have a inner cover should I shim under the inner cover? Also how long will it take bees to adapt to the upper entrance?
Went after dark and closed the bottom entrance.
I don't think I'd shim under the inner cover.

The bees will figure out new entrance pretty quick. They have to, it's the only entrance. They may still fly around the old entrance for a few days, but they'll all be back inside the hive at night, they'll figure it out and soon remember the change.

You were right.... less than a day and they were using top entrance with shim under TC. Still some are flying to the old entrance then moving to the new. I changed so much was worried that I did to much at one time.
