Locking them up does not make them re-orientate. What I have done that was effective is to take an extra top cover and lean it in front of the hive opening. This forces the foragers to move around the blockage and re-orientate. Some people swear by stuffing the opening with grass leaves. Lots of options. You risk overheating the hive if you use a solid block to the hive.
Move a hive
I need to move 1 hive about 200 feet how long should i keep them locked up before before letting them out in the new location.

Thanks, what i did is put some pine branches by the entrance. I have screen over the entrance that I will remove so they can come out
