We lost a hive this last winter and thinking that we were doing the right thing we closed it up and now all the comb are moldy looking. Can we install these into a healthy hive? Will they clean them up and use them? If not, do we just remove the old comb, the best we can, with a hot knife and reuse the frames and foundation (I use plastic)

I had a couple hives get infested with mice and every other terrible nasty thing. Swarms moved in, killed the mice, cleaned everything up like nothing ever happened.
