Hello all!
My name is Lindsey, and I am very new to beekeeping. I just bought a garden hive and will be setting it up this year.
I have a small farm with many acres of clover that I hope my bees will enjoy. We raise wool, beef, turkey, chicken and a few pet ducks.
I am also a science teacher near Grand Rapids at a school that specializes in the environment. I became turned onto beekeeping when I attended a presentation on Oakland University's Apiary Science in Schools. I thought this was inspiring and wanted to jump right in.

I look forward to your wisdom!

Hi Lindsey
Do you know where you are getting your bee's yet? If not there are a couple of people near you that have them. A guy from the Holland area bee clubs sells 3# packages at the end of April. He drives down south, loads up and drives straight through so the packages are 24 hrs old when you get them. I have bought from them before and alway got good bee's from them. Another is a member on this site and also from Holland area. He sells 5 frame nucs for a good price. Let me know if you need info and phone numbers for either of these
