Uncle Ted (Ted Nugent) is probably spewing his Wheaties. I can only imagine what he has to say about this!

Not to be controversial.... but........ right on.
We could all eat less meat and be the better
for it. Especially corn fed feed lot beef and
pork.

Easy Derek........... you can have your bacon,
just try some home growd stuff or free range.
Or better yet, shoot a wild hog and smoke your
own.

The thing about having a "Meat out day" or even regular "meatless Mondays" as I've read about, is that it's not unusual for my family to go meatless far more than that. More often than not, we have pasta once a week. Some nights no one feels like cooking so it's just a baked potato, or grilled cheese,. Last night (St Patrick's Day) we had my wife's awesome potato soup. My daughter likes making vegetable soup in the crockpot. Even when we have meat, it's usually not huge portions, just something added to a rice dish, or cassarole of some kind, perhaps a few pepperoni's on a pizza.

Aside from the boxes of insects in the yard, I thought we were a fairly typical family. Do the rest of you eat meat 7 days week?

You don’t put meat in your gravy?:)

On an average week we eat meat every night. Well tonight we are having chicken. Are we including that as “meat”

With a 14%+ unemployment rate, shouldn't the Governor be encouraging the use and consumption of products in her state?

It should be an Eat Michigan Meat Day.

All kidding aside. This was exactly my routine up to a
few years ago. Especially fond of rib eye steak.

Then a routine visit to my daughter where she works.
(a heart center as a Tech) She talked me into slapping
on a ECG and I agreed. I had 80% blockage in the right
atrium!

I love meat, but love life a whole lot more. and honestly
after learning to eat really tasty foods that aren't meat
centered....... I don't miss it all that much.
