Hi,

Can weak hives of different breeds (Say Carniolan and Caucasion) be merged to make a single strong hive without problem or is this a no-no?

Thanks!

Ok, thanks much, had no experience with this. Just a single sheet of newspaper? Does not seem like much.

Thanks,

Sure. I've done it before with no problems.

I just use a single sheet of newspaper and make two or three slits with my hive tool or pocket knife about two to three inches long. They will chew the paper up and start dragging it out of the hive. I will go in and remove what is left of the sheet in three to four days. I always put the queenless hive on top.
