Any body want to post a review on MegaBee. Looking to try some, just like pros and cons.

They are the best patties that I have used to date. Little pricey but the bees do consume them pretty quickly. Last time I ordered, Dadant had the 40 LB box for $58.00. I've not used the MegaBee dry formula, so can't comment.
My bees love it. Works good in syrup. Mixing directions on the bag.

Used it with my bees in pattie form last season and have a few left. Plan on purchasing some dry this year.
I use the dry feed mixed in sugar syrup I put 1/2 cup to the gallon of mix it stays mixed very well at that rate.

gonna try it here soon
I don't have any cons and I don't think you will find any. I've used it since it first came out and will continue to use it. I get a 40# bag and mix it to make patties and it disappears quickly.
I've been open feeding megabee here in Azle Texas, the last 2 days. Temps in 60's. Bees love it.
I had disastrous results when mixing it with syrup. It is clear to me that I must have been doing something wrong. I tried to follow the instructions, but would very much appreciate it if someone who had successes here post how they did it.

My bees died in the stuff, en masse (I'm talking a hundred or more in both of my hives, over a 36 hour period). I think it was because the powder wasn't fully dissolved. It sort of settled to the bottom of the feeder and became a real mess.

Once I removed it and put regular syrup back in there, they rebounded and bees floating in the mix became a rarity, instead of a certainty.
I wanted to know which the bees preferred, so I placed two patties in each of my 24 hives last spring. One made with megabee one made with a pollen substitute from Mann Lake. In all hives they completely consumed the megabee patty. The other was untouched or barely touched. This test justified the higher cost to me.
I buy the 40lb bags and make patties, great product, worth the extra $$$
How much of the fast consumption of the patties would/could you attach to the possibility of just a high sugar content in the patty?
jdpro5010; why would that matter? They're still getting the protein and carbs from the Megabee whether there's sugar or not. We haven't tried dry feeding with Megabee so don't know how well they take it.
They are getting the protien from Mega Bee. The carbs come from sugar. It matters because if you are basing how healthy it makes your bees by how fast they consume it, feeding sugar would be a whole lot cheaper and you would have the healthiest bees around. If it is 9/10's sugar the bees may not be getting the required protien but still be consuming the heck out of the patty because it is sugar.
Beaver, can you tell me your address? I want to send my girls over to get some free megabee!
I have 8 hives in my back yard.I place the powder on a dinner plate size plastic plate that I think came from an old KFC lunch. I put a 1/4 cup a day out.As I walk around monitoring my hives,it's funny to see one of the girls come in looking like she rolled in it. I also have several old combs laying out that I sprinkle it on. Open feeding sugar water also now. 1/2 to a gallon a day. Hoping to get them started fast as I have ordered 8 Queens from around the country.Plaining on doing several splits and raising Queens this year.
I made some of the patties and have been placing them in the hives but the open feeding seems like it would be easier. I have 7 hives. gote 8 queens on the way and 5 nucs. Well have to have a get together with the north Fort Worth crowd.
I'm going to try Megabee for the first time and I've been experimenting with the mixing. What is the consistence of the patties? When I make it, it starts off as a thick syrup but then turns to a hard candy. This stuff tends to want to harden. When I think of patties I think of peanut butter texture.
