MegaBee packaging... and a question

The photo on the left (or top) is from Dadant's website, the other is from Betterbee. I think I would spend the additional $0.50 to receive the factory-packaged product.




Pollen intake looks like it has really dropped off. Is it a good idea to give nucs some patties at this time?

I give patties all summer, my bees will take them, some faster than others. Put new ones on yesterday, did some checkering today and a couple of hives are going to town on them!
I have patties on my new nucs. They are taking them quite well.
