Could someone please tell me exactly what goes into a mating nuc?

If I were to use a 5 frame medium nuc box for mating. Could I put in three frames of whatever is needed and one follower board pushing all the frames to one side, then once the queen is laying feed in more drawn comb.

Will this work?

Thank you!:)

A frame of brood and a frame of honey.

Sure. Or fill it out with foundationless frames that they can drawn when they need room.
