I am interested in members thoughts on managing carniolians and Russian bees for honey. I run 2 deeps and seem to leave a lot of honey in the hive bodies. I saw a related post from a member in Germany last week and cannot track it down. I am interested in supering strategies including use of excluders and foundation with carniolians.

I've never had Russians, but I don't do anything different for my NWC than I do with my Italians. I get about the same production. The NWC have come from Strachen's and Honey Run Apiaries.

You can always pull honey out of the brood boxes to extract. just feed afterwards

I think 2 deeps are too much space for a broodnest during honey honey production, especially with carni's. Try reducing to one deep with mediums over that.
