A couple of weeks ago I opened a nuc that had several queen cells. I found the queen, I'm getting really good at it, and discovered that she had a malformed wing! She (or the workers) killed all the other queens and tore down their cells. I pinched this queen and gave the nuc some fresh eggs. I'm over 40 so I'm not so good at seeing those!
Is this common? I can't find any references to this happening here or anywhere on the web.

That looks similar to DFW virus but all the ones i've seen with it have all the wings messed up and deformed. When you look close it looks as though there were bites taken out of that wing, maybe from when she fought with the rest of the queen cell queens to take the nest.
