Was into one of my bigger hives yesterday and saw LOTS of drone capped brood.
It is June 19 in East Texas - isn't that a bit late ??
There was very little fresh worker capped brood scattered around the hive - and 3 full older frames of worker capped brood. The drone capped brood cells were lighter fresh color - so wonder if she is turning into a drone laying queen or not.?? I mean, how do you know if in the future she will only lay drone cells - just wait and see ??
Wondering if I should destroy most or ignore.
Yes, they know what they need - but the other smaller hives I have checked don't have any as I would assume is normal for now.
