My 10 day old nuc-installed hive is packing in the pollen at a rate of at least 5X that of my 16 day old package-installed hive (same location).

Any insights?

more foragers in a nuc (established colony). Proper packages are mostly nurse/house/young bees. As the young bees get older and new bees begin to hatch you will see an increase in the foraging from the package.

The nuc has more baby bees which eat pollen (bee bread) than the package hive does. Would you stock a pantry no one was eating out of?
