My best hive from early spring went laying worker on me after the queen died or swarmed. I just noticed it yesterday and there were probably 4 frames with eggs and larvae in some cells so I took those out and put them in freezer. I then shook out all frames about 50 feet away and switched the boxes out hoping that would eliminate some pheromones. Added a frame of eggs larvae and capped brood. Bought a mated queen from a guy today so I have her ready to go, just not sure if I should try to make a nuc with her and put on top to later combine or what. Been reading all day on what to do. I'd hate to lose all the bees from my strongest hive by combining when all other hives are splits from this hive so they may not be strong enough to suppress the LWs and they may kill my queens. Thoughts?
