I went out to Sam's Club and their current pricing on sugar, for Domino's Pure Cane Sugar was:

10# $6.13 .61 per pound
25# $14.99 .60 per pound
50# $29.57 .59 per pound

Walmart has a non-descript, generic sugar (perhaps beet sugar) at:

5# $2.78 .55 per pound
10# $4.72 .47 per pound
25# $11.68 .47 per pound

Walmart also has C&H sugar, 5# for $3.66 or .73 per pound

Aldi has 4# bags for $1.79 .45 per pound

Sugar is way up from a year ago.

The stuff I've gotten from Wally is 'Great Value' brand and specifically says cane sugar on the bag.

I don't think my bees can tell the difference between that and Domino's.

And the sugar Aldi's sells, at least here, is beet sugar, not cane.

From what I've been reading the price will continue to rise as demand is up and supply is low. Many of the high producing sugar nations have had bad weather this year for production. When it rains it pours economically.
