Ok, Grandma Alert.

One of my little granddaughters recently spent a week with me and of course was very interested in my array of hives & nucs. This led to a discussion of bee biology, especially since I had several queens in development.

Her big question: How many Queens did I have and how many Princesses?

:lpf:

At one time, it was believed the queen bee was the King Bee. It wasn't that long ago it was discovered that the "King Bee" was female.

(Anyone want to guess why they called it a "queen" instead of mother bee?)
