We just got home with our package of honeybees. They were so quiet all the way home. I kept anticipating driving home with these loud humming bees and wondering how that would feel but they weren't humming at all. Once we got home they started to get a little more active and hummed a bit. I sprayed them with some light sugar as instructed by natures nectar and they immediately quieted down. I was told not to hive them until around 5 pm. I think Jim told me to spray them every half hour? Does that sound right?

dont spray if they still havent cleaned up the last-and dont wet them down, just a light mist to cool'em and give'em something to do. keep 'em in the cool and dim and all will go fine. good luck, mike

Thanks Mike!

I wasn't expecting the funny smell. Is that normal?
cant say what you are calling "funny" they are living, breathing critters and do have a distinct odor. if you smell bananas, look out- they're P.Oed! good luck, mike
