Goldenrod bloom here too yet in over twenty years I have only smelled the distinct fragrance a couple of times. Our goldenrod just doesn’t produce anything that would qualify as a flow.
I think it smells much like butterscotch. Certainly not anything close to my memory of my old high school gym socks if I went a week or so without washing them…..
