I seen the plans for the IPM Screen Bottom Board this site and was wondering what is the pros and cons of using these? I live in the South and it is hot. Would I be doing a good thing to put these on my hives?

Yes, even good doing it up here in the cold cold North. I never even use the slide in tray that will seal the screen up unless running a mite count.
It is in the 90s with high humidity. I figured that it could only help with ventilation. Would you put the slide in bottom boards back in during the winter time? How do you use the slide in board to do a mite count?
Helps with ventilation year round. Having the bottom open during winter up here cuts down on the condensation (read ice) that forms on the the top cover (if mixed with a top vent) during winter so less melting into hive body.

For mite counts tack some wax paper or the like to the slide in board and rub with vaseline so the mite drop sticks to the board when you do a treatment
Thanks for the info. I was wondering if you needed something sticky. At least that would make sense. I am going to build me a couple tomorrow.
