Yes I bought one of these to try. Waste of money, I never saw 1 SHB in the trap but the reservoir did fill with water if rained a lot, then it would go rancid.

Between Rader's link and the comments here, I really can't justify even trying it out. Thanks for saving me the $30! ;)

I have 2 on a couple of my hives. They do catch some beetles, but not all. I used them on a couple of new nucs, and the entrance did not confuse the bees at all, it may on a established hive. The problems are, 1 leaks some if it rains pretty heavy and they reduce the entrance. I have had them on my hives since spring and so far have decided to leave them on because they are catching a lot of beetles and do not seem to bother the bees. I also have 1 of their screen bottom boards which I really like, it has a built in trap in the back. I also like their feed easy top hive feeder, very easy to use. They have some unique designs for the bee hive.
