Hello,

I have never known much about bees but wanted to ask you guys a question.

As I have had a lot of free time these last few weeks I’ve started many activities around my house. Today it was gardening. I decided to clean out this space at my house which was full of dry and dirty soil. All of the sudden this black and white bee and I immediately go back into my house to watch it until it leaves. Except it doesn’t leave, it keeps going back and forth to the same area. Another insect, similar but bigger comes and flies around the same area. I watch for about an hour, how both go on the soil on the same spot and look like they are trying to dig or go inside.

I now am very curious about what those means and was wondering if any of you knew.

Thank you!

Could be a leafcutter bee.

Are you sure it was a bee? Could have been a bald faced hornet, I have lots of those around me and they can be aggressive. if you can get a picture, that would help a lot!
