Peaches and almonds are almost identical varieties (we eat the pit of one, and the pulp of the other) and I know peach pits have cyanide in them. It makes me wonder if peach trees also produce this same amygdalin chemical.
I think these results may have been taken out of context by some journalist who got a C- in non-major biology. The two peer-reviewed journal abstracts with this author and bees suggested only caffeine and nicotine (quelle surprise!!!) had an impact on honeybee feeding behavior.
