I treated two 2 of my 4 hives yesterday with OAV from the bottom and had a bunch of technical difficulties (incomplete vaporization, battery problems, early recrystallization on a screen etc.) I know they got some of the dose but I don’t think it was very efficient. I fixed my issues and treated the other 2 hives successfully today using a topside method instead. How long should I wait to repeat the treatment on the first 2 since I’m pretty sure they didn’t get the full perscription? I don’t want them to get too much OA but also want to make sure I’m being effective.

I OAV from the bottom. If I don't see a normal amount come out the top, something's wrong. I have done 2 treatments 1 day apart.

if the first treatment was "suspect" why wait at all?
a clump of OA on the bottom board will not add to the total in Hive OA much.

OAV is one of the few treatments that seems to minimally damage the bees, within reason.

I've OAV right into the brood nest without any obvious harm to the bees before.

I do not ever recommend that approach, but I've seen it first hand, and was curious why it didnt cause any harm.
