Just weighed ten medium frames of capped honey...54 #s!!
Figuring an allowance for the hardware and comb, I'll bet I have 40+ pounds of honey.
This is especially rewarding to us because we've been having bees since '04 and this is our first harvest.

Ed, way to go! That is just awesome. 54 lbs of honey in a medium super is great.

It's been six years of waiting, wax moths, small hive beetles, absconding...and this was a feral colony that moved in last year.

I'm wearing my swollen left hand with pride!!

Great. I'm thinking I'll have to get a small extractor this fall. Or may bee keep honey for the winter.
