It is usually stated a 6 pounds of honey to make one pound of wax, which is about equal to drawing out 4 to 5 deep frames.

I find that 10 deep frames contain roughly 2# of harvestable wax. I was always told 8# of honey per pound of wax, but it really does not matter. Forcing the bees to draw new comb all the time will have and impact on overall honey production so protect the comb you have as best as you can. Earlier this week I harvested some frames of drone comb from a few failed hives. The seven frames yielded 1.3 pounds of clean beeswax using boiling water to render the wax from the comb.
