it is a solitary bee, more than 2,000 species in the USA, could be a miner, mason or leaf roller.

Just some solitary bees.

Newly emerged AMM workers can not even fly - so to be found outside of a hive in some distance.

Good point! I was thinking they were lost. did not consider solitary.

I’m gonna say East Blueberry Bee, for no other reason than I picked “Rich Strike” at 80-1 in the Kentucky Derby…but didn’t lay a bet down…love those long shots.
