I constantly inundate my coworkers with bee facts and experiences. I think they really despise the honeybee now just because they're tired of me talking about it. In all seriousness though, they have a lot of questions. I figured that since they have questions, when I have an opportunity I'll bring in something to stir their interest.

This morning I brought in a weak and starved worker bee who unfortunatly had been used as a host for a varroa when she was developing. Needless to say she is small and had the deformed wing virus. I brought this gal in to show the guys what happens when these mites have their way with a population. They were amazed. Been getting questions all day.

Funny, isn't it, how people can get caught up in the workings of a hive. even more so when you bring someone through a hive. It's the same look on there faces when they look through a large telescope and see nebulas and galaxies in living color for the first time.
