Two packages installed april 17.One absconded shortly after queen release on the 20th.The other showed normal bee behavior but no eggs after one week.Several good people on this forum told me to be patient,that it could take 10 days to two weeks before the queen resumes laying.Sure enough,yesterday(day 12 from queen release),I have observed eggs.Also saw the queen walking calmly over the comb.She wasn't laying at the time,but I probably interrupted her.This is a big milestone for a first year beekeeper.Somehow I must have done something right! The bees have lots of stores and have drawn about 3-4 frames of comb.I'm excited about the future of this hive and wish to thank those of you who offered advice.Good luck to everyone!

I know how you feel, I checked on a Nuc I had made from a swarm cell and I have eggs now and the prettiest almost all Black Queen I have every saw. But, I'm not an impartial judge either.
