Reading is good for theory. The girls will teach you first hand. You will find that they do not read the same books. Try to stay ahead with extra equipment and tools. As a hobbyist you should probably start by having enough boxes on hand as you will need for the year. I started with two deeps and three supers per hive It is nice to have the extra equipment when moving frames around.
