Hi there. I am new to this forum and new to beekeeping, but wanted to drop in and say hi and thank you for all the knowledge present on this forum.
We have 2 homes - one in Denver and a cabin in the mountains near Hartsel. I recently caught the beekeeping bug from our neighbor up in Hartsel, and decided to build 2 Kenyan top bar hives. Figured it would be a fun project for the 14 year old daughter and myself to undertake, and it was. I am still absorbing information as quickly as possible, and welcome any suggestions along the way.
My bee packages arrive on Saturday and I have a lot of driving to do in order to release them in their new homes, but I will try to video the process for anyone interested.
Here is a video tour of my top bar hives, design inspired by a famous youtuber - Wranglerstar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMjKjzWT_ew
Thanks!
Striider
