I understand that it is time to remove honey and equipment that you don't plan on leaving over the winter. However, how do you remove supers that they are using to raise brood? I have two fairly strong hives. Both have 2 mediums on top of 2 deeps and a medium (the brood area) that are mostly empty but they still have some brood in there. Should I just wait a few more weeks? Thanks in advance.

You can place a queen excluder under the supers and provide a top entrance for the drones to escape, when the brood hatches out shake the bees from the super frames and remove the supers.

If I have brood in a box I call it a brood box regardless of how many boxes I have on the hive.
Generally though this time of year it takes a good queen to need two deeps.
