My issue with feeding is I don’t want to be cooking up syrup every couple days and 1-1 will ferment or sour if left unused. Is it possible to mix up a drum to have on hand I’ve seen some mentions about vinegar? Is there a way to do this or am I stuck mixing small batches.

Keep it simple.
2:1 usually needs "extra" heat to get all the sugar to dissolve and it will sometimes precipitate out over time.
Try what Mike Palmer suggests.
Put sugar in a container, note the level and then add hot tap water to bring the liquid level to the same point stirring until dissolved.
If necessary add a little more hot tap water to get all dissolved.
You end up with about a 5:3 ratio, the bees don't care.
Bleach at a teaspoon to a tablespoon per gallon of syrup will keep it fresh, the bees don't care.
Less water to store or carry to the bee yard.
If you want it thinner add more water before feeding.
The bees don't care, they don't do math.

I use 2:1 (or as close as I can get without heating) always. If I am feeding bees, I want to FEED the bees! I have had no problem with spoilage of 2:1.

50 colonies. I’m leaning towards just mixing in a 55 gallon drum and hauling it in 5 gallon buckets to open feed. Two yards I’m thinking 5 5 gallon bucket feeder types So one per five colonies. And what I don’t use I don’t want to be able to last 2-3 weeks.
