A solution to keep skunks away from front of raised stands is to attach a piece of stucco wire that is wider than the hive, to the front of stand and have it slope 45 degrees outwards and end of wire resting on the ground.

One can also place two 4-5 inch posts or blocks of wood on ground in front of hive. Posts are parallel to front of hive and two feet apart. Lay stucco wire on top of posts. Skunks can not navigate holes in wire and stay away from front of hive.

stay away from front of hive.

I was particularly impressed with this skunks technique of going under the hive and tapping on the bottom.
