I’m paranoid of swarming although my hives are good right now. How often do most inspect brood nest is it best to leave them alone during the main flow and just peak on supers to make sure there’s room or full inspection every couple of weeks?

I tip up and look underneath the bottom of each brood box of every hive, every five days until I am satisfied we have passed the likely point of swarming. It has nothing to do with whether there is a flow on, or not.

Generally once the main flow hits you can just pile on the supers. Swarming after the main flow is a matter of not running out of room. Swarming before the main flow is an issue of keeping the brood nest open.

That’s kind of what a local guy told me the bees will be to busy in the main flow to think about swarming. I’ve always heard going in the hive screws up the production so I want to avoid that but still maintain them as responsibly as possible.
