i am wondering, after reading a link that said to start feeding pollen sub 9 weeks before the honey flow and keep feeding until they don't want it anymore, how much pollen sub would i want to have on hand per hive. would i benefit from giving it to new packages as well. i know i am asking for opinions and that the right answer will come with hindsight, but i prefer experienced guesses to mine. thanks, justin

Strength of the hive will determine how fast they consume the patty, but for me a regular hive will eat a lb patty in anywhere between four to seven days. Nucs or small singles will consume them slower of course.

I'm thinking that it would also depend on what BRAND NAME you would be using. I tried a well known brand and bees would not eat it. Found another well known brand and they went right after it. Have stayed with the second one since with no problems. Pembroke

And what well known brand would that bee? Are you a sales person for one or the other? If you can't give a good opinion on one product that works, for you, that might help others here, don't say anything. Your post offered no help for anyone.

Pembroke's post told me that all pollen subs may not work equally well. Now I know that I should try several to compare.

Say anythihg you want, Pembroke! :D
