Looks like we're near the end of warmth.
Out of curiosity, does anyone here know how long it takes for bees to cure 2:1 syrup completely?
Will daytime highs of 60F, and night temps in the low 40s be too cold for them to cure syrup?
How late into the season will they add propolis ?So, all my hives have taken 15 kgs of 2:1 syrup in the last 3 weeks and now it’s +1 C . I think I’ll be getting sugar boards ready.
My concern is they were making bees, not stores from the late season bounty.
Definitely some storage, but I’m not convinced it was enough. Too late to fuss that now.
Sugar is cheap, bees aren’t.
At this latitude I’m reluctant to break propolis seals this time of year.
Mantra = Sugar cheap, bees expensive
Que sera, sera. Die is cast, did my best.
