I need to coat the bars on my newly built top bar hive and I have some wax that my wife bought a few years ago. I thought it was beeswax as it has that nice golden color, but it doesn't smell anymore. How long does beeswax smell? Or better yet, how can I be sure it is? It'd be nice to know before I paint all the bars.

I assume since it's solidifying so quickly then that it probably is beeswax. Thanks for the help.
