I just moved my 2 hives to my new property. It has a ton of alfalfa bloom right now. These are my first hives both started from packages in april. Today I checked one hive and found 3 queen cells on 2 different frames. Found the queen and eggs through but they haven't drawn out my second box much and back filled a lot of nectar.

Is it too late to do a cut down split in southern Idaho?

The ideal time was two weeks before the flow, which is probably past. At this point I would probably just do an even split. and you are rapidly approaching when it will be too late to let them raise their own queen.

Thanks for the response. So split off the now capped queen cells? Or is it too late to do that?
