I'm trying the JC Bees method for queen rearing. It looks like 7 out of 10 larvae were accepted. Comb on the nicot cup was about 1/2 down after 24 hrs in the cell builder. However, it got caught on a rogue piece of comb while pulling it out of the cell started and bumped hard enough that a good number of the bees came off. The rest were smoked off and then it was put in a big queen right w/ excluder cell finisher.

Are they able to handle a bumping?

I hear that day 2 usually has even higher numbers due to gland activation. Is that accurate? I have to actually wait until tomorrow to graft again due to weather, but would like to hear your experience.
