Long time lurker but wanted to brag about a recent eBay score. I've been looking for some large stainless tanks for my new honey hobby. I picked up a couple of the 30gal tanks for only $150! These are usually $300+. They also have 50gal tanks and I might pick up another as well. I'm new to the hobby but I'm learning a ton from my buddy who has a ton of hives.

MKEBee:

Welcome to beesource! I like the stock pot. Make sure you keep in mind that 30 gallons of honey will weigh about 360 pounds. You will probably want to attempt to drill a hole in the side wall, near the bottom to make a drain plug/valve before you get 30 gallons in the stock pot. Or, you will need a pump system to pump the honey out of the top of the stock pot and into another unit for bottling. I could see it working though and you are only $150 in it. Please keep us posted with any future modifications you do to it.

Are you referring to the stainless steel pot? If so, it doesn't look like it can be sealed air-tight, which could cause problems with the humidity level of the honey and with contaminants.
