I have two hives with two supers on each and three of them are getting to be just about full. I went and inspected today and took my hydrometer with me to see where the honey is at in the moisture part of things. I took various random samples from different frames and from capped and uncapped portions. The average is that the honey is 18-19% even in the uncapped parts. I wont be able to go in again until next Thursday so Im hoping by then that they have capped the rest of it but if they havent capped it and its still down around 19% is that good enough to extract? Im a little concerned because one of the supers although pretty full its about 95% uncapped but its MC is around 19-20% Ive been told not to take any honey unless its at least 80% capped.

I'm sure that the bees will not forget to cap it when THEY think it's the right time.
