Saw some odd behavior outside the hive tonight - a dead bumble bee was lying about 2 feet from the entrance in some pine bark mulch, and one of my girls was buzzing around her, grabbing at her wings, landing on her and seemingly biting her with her mouth (didn't seem to be stinging though). Any ideas what this may be about? None of the other bees seemed to care, and there was a live bumble bee buzzing around some flowers about a foot to the right, same distance from the hive roughly, and nobody seemed to care about her either. Not really worried about it - just curious. These beasts sure are weird sometimes (which makes them even more interesting)!

It was probably in trying to get in the hive before it was killed. I often find dead bumblebees inside my hives.
